If you can actually smell gas in or around your home, you should open all doors and windows and call the free Gas Emergency Services line immediately on 0800 111 999. If you have any difficulty getting Gas Emergency Services to respond, then call us on 0776 697 9767  and we’ll help.

If you have ever been in a situation where your heating system has lost its ability to supply your home with comforting heat, you know just how unsettling it can be. Who Needs Emergency Heating Services?

Generally, you need emergency heating services if you’re faced with a heating issue that creates a safety situation inside your home or in the surrounding area or if it is outside business hours and waiting until the following day might cause irreparable damage to your home or heating system. So many homes in the UK operate with a gas boiler and radiator heating system, so there are many factors that could be classified as a heating emergency.

In most cases, it is a problem with the boiler (though if it’s an electric shower that’s stopped giving hot water, it may well be a problem with that). Our service vans carry almost all of the equipment, fittings and materials we’re likely to need to fix the problem. If it turns out that you need a part that we don’t have with us, we’ll make everything secure and safe and get the part for you from one of our local suppliers. Once the problem is fixed, we get everything back up and running and test it thoroughly.

How to Prevent Unexpected Heating Issues

Having your heating system inspected and serviced on a regular basis is a great way to keep heating emergencies at bay. When each component of your heating system is clean and there is no damage to speak of, it will run efficiently and little problems won’t have the opportunity to fester and grow into something unmanageable. No one ever plans an emergency, but you can help prevent one by keeping your heating system in good working order all year round.

Let’s assume you’re not in immediate danger. But of course you still need your problem fixed quickly. Give us a call and we’ll tell you over the phone exactly what to do to make sure everything is safe. Then we’ll fix a two-hour window with you in which we’ll come round, sort out whatever’s gone wrong and get you back up and running.

Characteristics of a Great Service Provider

Some people may think that if a heating engineer provides great technical service, they are a great service provider. Exceptional service is certainly a must, but there is much more to it than that. A great heating engineer shows up on time, is friendly and courteous, respects your home and everyone in it, does not add hidden fees to the total and has no issue answering your questions.

Normal Fees…Even During Emergencies

Even when attending an emergency, we just charge for the work that we do at our normal rates.
This means we charge an initial hour at the rate applicable at that time of day, and if we’re still working after one hour, we charge further time in half hour increments. You can see our charge scale in the table below.

Our Installation Process and What You Can Expect When You Work With Us

Before installing your new boiler, we will arrange to come over and look at your property, talk to you about how you use your heating and hot water, and then recommend the best type and size of boiler for your needs.

We’ll give you a free quotation for supplying and installing the boiler and, if you go ahead and would like us to order your boiler, we’ll get it for you at the best price we can using our trade discount.

When we come to your home to do the installation, we’ll be friendly, polite and considerate, and complete the work with minimal disruption to you.

We will agree with you when the water and heating will be off and try to give you a clear idea of when they will be back on.

Our team will put down dust sheets wherever they’re needed, working cleanly and efficiently.

When the work is complete, we will take you through our installation checklist so you know exactly what has been done. We want to make sure that you are happy with every aspect before signing the project off.

Afterwards, we will walk you through your new system and set up your controls just as you want them.

Back at our office we will take care of all necessary registrations for you. We will register your gas work with the local authority through Gas Safe, and register your boiler manufacturer’s guarantee with them directly. All you have to do is go and take a lovely hot bath and enjoy your nice warm home and wait for your registration and certification paperwork to arrive.
